IT MAY NOT TAKE A LOT TO GET DRUNK

On Behalf of The Foley Law Firm | June 21, 2016

Many people get behind the wheel after they have consumed alcohol. And there is a reason for this: they don't believe they are drunk. They think because they only had a "few" drinks that they are okay to drive.

Unfortunately, it doesn't always take a lot to get drunk. There are many factors that impact your blood alcohol content level, including the number of drinks you consumed and the period of time.

Consider this: one drink consumed by a small female can have a much greater impact than the same drink consumed by a male who is three times the size. This is why you need to think carefully about what you are drinking and when you get behind the wheel.

Even if you think you are sober, there is a good chance that you aren't. And as you know, if you get pulled over by police and your blood alcohol level is higher than the legal limit, it will more than likely lead to your arrest.

If you have any questions about whether or not you are drunk, the best thing you can do is avoid driving. This may cause you some issues in regards to getting to your next destination, but there are alternatives.

In the event that you are pulled over and charged with drunk driving, it's a must to know your rights. There are times when police make mistakes, such as in the way they conduct a field sobriety test. This could help you avoid a conviction, thus getting your life back on track in the near future.
