A man has recently been arrested resulting from an incident that occurred at a Kohl's department store on N. Powers Boulevard. Colorado Springs officers claim that they initially questioned a suspect about shoplifting, but the search of his vehicle supposedly yielded drugs as well. The man now faces charges relating to theft as well as drug distribution allegations.

According to the police report, officers responded to a call about shoplifting at the department store around 11:30 p.m. The exact items that the man is accused of taking are not mentioned within the report. What led police to the parking lot of a nearby Burger King is also not mentioned in the report; nevertheless, they decided to question a man sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot.

Police approached the vehicle, and they searched the 41-year-old man's car. The report is not clear on whether the man gave the officers express consent to search his vehicle. Regardless, police claim to have found stolen merchandise as well as 32.9 grams of methamphetamine, 9.7 grams of heroin and various drug paraphernalia. Police initially suspect that the man intended to distribute the drugs, but the investigation is still underway.

The man has been charged with theft as well as distribution of narcotics.
